For me, styling my family for a photo session can be...anxiety inducing. I do LOVE curating the perfect palette but it can be daunting so I'm here to say I see you, and I can help! Whether it's shopping locally, shopping your closet or hey, a friends closet! We'll talk local shops, creative mixing and matching, and all the various ways to style kids for your up-coming families photoshoot!
When you schedule your session I will send you a style guide where I go over where to shop, how to mix and match, color palettes and more. It's a high-level overview with a ton of useful information but specifically for the Raleigh - Durham area, I wanted to get into it some cute, kids shops that I have personally explored!
Finding the perfect outfit for your little one can feel like a treasure hunt. Whether you’re looking for playful everyday wear, special occasion outfits, or something in between, the Triangle area of North Carolina—including Raleigh, Durham, and Chapel Hill—has a variety of shops to suit every style and budget.

9. Shopping your friends closet!
Don't forget this, seemingly simple, tip! Have friends with kids around the same age?! Borrow! You're (likely) going to keep it clean because sessions can be kept relatively short and focused. Getting creative within your own closet is fun too! Layering sweaters over dresses, quarter zips over fun patterns, repurposing common household items for a textural play - bows, sheets sewn into a bandana!
Don't be afraid to get creative! Color is FUN - and if I have learned anything from my own kids and our sessions...forcing your kids into something they find uncomfortable will result in...less lively photos and an overall sense of stuffiness that I definitely would love to avoid!
