Forest Hills park- Durham, nc

Forest Hills Park is a little community park in South- ish Durham that is close to my home and filled with texture, color, beautiful sunlight and more. I adore doing mini sessions here for a few reasons:

  • it's never insanely crowded and you can easily move around for a variety of shots
  • parking is easy!
  • there's a playground for a bit of fun either during or after the session.
  • the sun is great, morning or evening you're going to get some great sun sparkling through the trees!
  • there's beautiful flowers - goldenrod? i think? and some fun other yellow flowers if you catch it at the right time!
  • and there's a sculpture by Durham artist Guy Solie - which I guess has been painted since it's original installation but still so beautiful and fun to incorporate into sessions!

this year we had so much fun, I met so many new families and just genuinely love getting out in this park and seeing the birthday parties or recently a Book Harvest event! It's fun being in the community and just outside!!!


I definitely will be doing these again in late August and/or early October so be on the lookout!
