Angela & Ethan in Downtown, Durham, NC
When I say this session had everything...I mean it. I need you to channel your inner Stefon from SNL , "this session has....everything...neoclassical architecture of the 1934 post office, a secret (not so secret) alley, exposed brick, exposed hearts". I am OBSESSED with what we captured in our quick hour wandering around downtown. We started behind Alley 26, walked over to the Post Office, then hung out at the entrance to the Durham Hotel (never not pining over that tile)...thennnn we drove over to Corcoran Parking Garage all the way to the top to capture the amazingly sunny and delightful dancing photos overlooking the tobacco campus and the infamous Durham Bull sign!!! So much texture, vibrant color (the Queeny's sign...so good) , movement and fun in an hour!
Prompts :
I thought it would be fun to describe or kind of write out my prompts and what came of them....I honestly don't capital P pose my clients often, I call it a soft posing system where I'm guiding you...constantly kind of looking around for the next set-up....it's a fairly typical method but here are some fun prompts!
the "drunk walk" - we've all done it...we've seen it...it's super cute. in this case I tried to make sure there hands aligned with the vertical flag pole in the back.
hold hands and sway back and forth around the pole, catching a kiss every couple of swings!
Angela...pull Ethan kind of fast, like slightly run! we played with some motion blue - i love the blue of the garage and the orange of the car!
I am so stoked for their wedding later this year!!! Though I am mainly a newborn and family photographer I am dying to do more engagement sessions downtown...maybe at the Museum of Life and Science butterfly house...PLEASE!!! If you're looking for fun, adventure, and someone who is truly going to be your best hype man...reach out!!!
